Margaret Hiller
Executive Director
Bridgeport Public Education Fund

Marge Hiller has been executive director of the Bridgeport Public Education Fund since 1984. Ms. Hiller’s expertise includes building community collaboratives and community engagement, community asset mapping, and violence prevention in urban settings. In addition to chairing the membership committee and serving on the management committee for PEN, she sits on several boards: the Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition, the International Institute of Connecticut, the School Volunteer Association, LEAP, and the Greater Bridgeport Symphony. Ms. Hiller is also vice president of the Connecticut Coalition Against Gun Violence.

The Connecticut Education Association named her Friend of Education for 1994. The International Reading Association and the Connecticut Reading Association presented her with the 1995 Literacy Award for her exemplary service in the promotion of literacy. In 2002, Ms. Hiller received the Woman of Distinction award from the Housatonic Girl Scout Council, the Jan Park Civic Leadership award from the Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition, and the Friend of Leadership Greater Bridgeport award from the Bridgeport Regional Business Council.
