Lee Kravitz
Former Editor-in-Chief and Senior Vice President
Parade Publications

Lee Kravitz is the former editor-in-chief and senior vice president of Parade, the Sunday magazine distributed by 335 newspapers throughout the United States. With more than 75 million readers, Parade is the world's largest circulation magazine. Each Sunday in Parade, Kravitz conducted what he calls "A Conversation with America," involving some of the world's finest writers and thinkers in an exploration of the ideas and ideals that bind us together as a nation.

A nationally recognized expert on young people and education, Kravitz was the founding editor of React, the pioneering, newspaper-distributed magazine for teenagers that reached a weekly circulation of 3 million before its close in June 2000.

Previously, as an editorial director of Scholastic Inc., Kravitz oversaw several classroom magazines, including Choices, Science World, Update and Junior Scholastic, and led numerous literacy and civic awareness campaigns that involved tens of millions of young people. His advocacy of young people and teachers continues at Parade, and through his leadership on several boards, including Youth Service America and National History Day and as president of Youth Communication Inc., a publisher of writing by foster children and inner—city teens. He appears regularly on television and radio to discuss issues that pertain to youth, education and parenting.
