Richard
J. Vierk, treasurer of the PEN board, is the managing
partner for tax for the Deloitte & Touche Nebraska
Practice. His career spans more than 28 years in public
accounting, with extensive experience in the nonprofit
sector.
Among his professional affiliations are the American
Institute of CPAs, the Nebraska Society of CPAs, the
American Bar Association, the Nebraska Bar Association,
the Lincoln Bar Association, and the Nebraska Chamber
of Commerce. His current community activities include
serving as board member of the American Cancer Society,
trustee member of the Arthritis Foundation, board chair
at Dana College, board member of the Lincoln Public Schools
Foundation, board member of the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra,
president of the Nebraska Citizens for the Arts, life
trustee of the Nebraska Art Association, board member
of the Public Education Fund Network, board chair of
St. Elizabeth Regional Health Center, president of Nebraska
Audubon, and vice chair of the Cooper Foundation.
Mr. Vierk graduated from Dana College with a bachelor
of science in accounting, and he received a juris doctor
from the University of Nebraska.
