PEN and its members see a vital link between
the quality of public education and the quality of life
in a democratic society. They look to public
engagement as the basis of education reform.
National Strategy, Local Action
PEN advocates for significant improvement in public education
through our network of members in communities across
America and through our national public engagement
initiatives in standards and accountability, schools
and community, and teacher quality.
PEN and its members serve as catalysts for change, bringing community voice into local, state, and national debates on quality public education.
Powering an Education Agenda
Through a wealth of resources, publications, and partnerships,
we share the knowledge, best practices, and real-world
experiences of our LEF members—from small rural
communities in the South to large urban metroplexes
in the Northeast—with policymakers, the education
community, and the public. Our work supports a creative
exchange of ideas centered on a common goal: making
quality public education a top priority in every community,
for every child.
